Minister of Youth Congratulates Cambodia for Being Out of Least Developed Countries

Phnom Penh: The Chairman of the Committee on Education, Youth and Sports, Hun Many, has congratulated the Prime Minister Hun Sen for the Cambodian achievements on social and economic development in the past years. The remarks were made during a press conference organized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports at Preah Sisowath High School.

Hun Many says, "Today, as a Cambodian citizen, I would like to congratulate PM Hun Sen, who a few days ago announced that for the first time in the history of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the United Nations. The nation has announced that Cambodia has passed or has reached a certain level of qualifications, not in a less developed country but as a country of development in the development phase."

For more than two decades, Cambodia's economic growth has averaged about seven percent every year, and this momentum has paved the way for Cambodia to become a low-middle-income country. It has been foreseen that in 2030, the Kingdom may reach the status of high middle income country and a high income country by 2050.
